Our surgeons are experienced laparoscopic bariatric surgeons who specialize in the minimally invasive approach to weight loss surgery. The laparoscopic technique involves performing surgery through several small incisions. Compared to open surgery, performed through one large incision down the middle of the abdomen, patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery experience shorter hospital stays, less pain and a faster recovery.

While a combination of diet and exercise is the healthiest and least invasive way to lose weight, fewer than one in 20 morbidly obese people can lose a significant amount of weight and keep it off without surgery.

In 1991 the National Institute of Health stated that surgery is the only effective way to obtain significant, permanent weight loss in the morbidly obese individual.
